Smartron launched srt.phone in India: Price, specs and features

India-based electronics and IoT company, has launched its new smartphone called srt. phone in India. Sachin Tendulkar, who is Smartron ambassador and investor, unveiled the srt. phone, which is priced starting 12,999 for 32GB storage variant. The 64GB option costs Rs 13,999. It is Flipkart exclusive in India.


Smartron launched its mid-range flagship phone called t-phone, in India. It is priced at Rs 24,999. Smartron srt. phone will feature a 5.5-inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It comes in two storage variants, one with 4GB RAM+32GB ROM and another with 4GB RAM+64GB ROM. It supports unlimited storage with tronx platform. The device will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor.

Smartron srt. phone packs a 13MP rear camera with phase detection auto-focus, like we saw on t-phone. The front camera in srt.phone has been bumped up to 5MP. srt. phone will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat with stock Android UI and e company�s tronX suite of apps.

srt. phone will be backed by a 3,000mAh battery and support Quick Charge 2.0 technology. There�s no metal unibody design and back cover will be removable. The smartphone will support USB Type-C for charging.


Smartron is offering an extra Rs 1500 off on exchange and free Sachin Tendulkar back covers worth Rs 599. No cost EMI for srt. phone starts at Rs 1167 per month. Additionally, users will get one-year of t.care extended warranty worth Rs 1,499, for free with srt.phone.


Smartron�s ambitions are to launch IoT devices, high-end computers and smartphones, which are made and developed in India. The company has R&D centres in Bangalore and Hyderabad.

Facebook, Airtel launch Express Wi-Fi in India

Facebook today announced the commercial launch of Express Wi-Fi in India. Express Wi-Fi is part of Facebook's global initiative to spread internet connectivity. The company started testing Express Wi-Fi in India in 2015 and have been working with internet services providers and over 500 local entrepreneur retailers since then.


The service commercially available through nearly 700 hotspots across the four Indian states of Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Meghalaya. Express Wi-Fi is currently live in five countries�India, Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria and Indonesia.

Social media giant Facebook has partnered with country's largest telecom player Airtel to deploy 20,000 internet hotspots through Facebook's Express Wi-Fi service in India. These hotspots will be installed by the company in the coming few months.

Express Wi-Fi is designed to complement mobile data offerings by providing a low-cost, high bandwidth alternative for getting online and access apps, download and stream content. The Express Wi-Fi partnerships empower local Indian entrepreneurs to start businesses to offer internet access to their town or region.

The number of Express Wi-Fi hotspots in India rapidly. India has a population of about 1.3 billion people, but according to the Regulatory body TRAI�s Performance Indicator Report, only 390 million people are connected to the internet.

Ajai Puri, chief operating officer (India & South Asia), Bharti Airtel said "We are delighted to be a part of this initiative to provide affordable access to high speed data to users across India, particularly in the underserved segment. We believe this will help in empowering millions of Indians by bringing them online and contribute to the Government's Digital India vision.


Wi-Fi network by signing up with an Express Wi-Fi retailer and purchasing a daily, weekly or monthly data pack at a rate set by the partners. They will then be able to connect to the Express Wi-Fi hotspot, register/create an account, login and start browsing or use any app on the entire internet.

Announced partnership with Airtel, Express Wi-Fi has been deployed in partnership with ISPs AirJaldi in Uttarakhand, LMES in Rajasthan, Tikona in Gujarat, and soon with Shaildhar in Meghalaya.

Oppo F3 Launched in India : Specifications, Features, Release Date, and More

Oppo has decided to launch its sibling Oppo F3 in the country. The big highlight of the device is its dual selfie camera, The Oppo F3 looks a lot like the company's incumbent F1S and sports a full-metal unibody design with a front-mounted fingerprint scanner.


oppo is set to launch the Oppo F3 in India on Thursday, at an event in Mumbai that kicks off at 12:30pm IST. The company will also be live streaming the event, and you can catch that right here.
  • Specifications, Features
The Oppo F3 bears a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) In-Cell TFT 2.5D curved display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and 401ppi pixel density. It is powered by a 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6750T6 octa-core SoC coupled with with Mali-T860 GPU and 4GB of RAM.

16-megapixel 1.3-inch sensor with f/2.0 aperture and double view wide-angle camera that has an 8-megapixel sensor. While the former sports a 76.4-degree wide-angle lens, the latter sports a 120-degree wide-angle lens that allows for 105-degree field-of-view group selfies. 
The Oppo F3 comes with various camera features, including the Beautify 4.0 app, Selfie Panorama, Screen Flash, and Palm Shutter.

The Oppo F3 also bears a fingerprint sensor on the home button, said to unlock the smartphone in as little as 0.2 seconds. The dual-SIM Oppo F3 runs ColorOS 3.0 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. There's a new feature called Clone Apps that allows you to use two WhatsApp accounts on the smartphone.

The Oppo F3 sports 64GB of inbuilt storage that's expandable via a dedicated microSD card (up to 128GB). Oppo F3 Plus sports a 13-megapixel 1.3-inch sensor with PDAF, and LED flash. The Oppo F3 packs a 3200mAh non-removable battery as well.

Connectivity options on board the Oppo F3 include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth v4.0, GPS/ A-GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and Micro-USB. The smartphone measures at 153.3x75.3x7.3mm, and weighs 153 grams.

The smartphone is priced at Rs. 19,999. The Oppo F3 will be available for pre-order from today, until May 12, and the first sale will be on May 13.
The Oppo F3 looks identical to the Oppo F3 Plus that was launched in March. When compared to its bigger sibling, the Oppo F3 sports slightly less exciting specs, but the price tag is significantly less as well. To recap, the Oppo F3 Plus was launched at Rs. 30,990.

The Huawei P11 is expected to launch at the start of 2018, but little else is known about the phone so far.

The next MWC will be at the end of February 2018, a year after the launch of the Huawei P10. At the time of writing, the Huawei P10 has only just been released, so we'd expect some major improvements by the time of the P11.

In terms of price, it's not currently clear what Huawei will do - but we hope to see the price drop for the next version. The Huawei P10 costs around �570 (roughly $710/AU$945), but wasn't released in the US.


  • Better battery life
One of our main criticisms of the Huawei P10 was the poor battery life.

We found it to be a touch worse than theHuawei P9 that went before it, so we hope that Huawei puts a lot of effort in to increase the battery life on the Huawei P11.

The Huawei P11 gets the same 5.1-inch display but with 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution than it�s predecessor. P10 had 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution with 401 PPI pixel density. The successor might have it even bigger.

Huawei P series is known for Camera. The P10 had a dual camera setup and so will the P11 will have 20 MP + 12 mega pixel rear camera. On the front, we will have the same 8 mega pixel camera.

Camera samples leaked : OnePlus 5

The images captured with the upcoming OnePlus 5 flagship. One can�t tell for sure if this is legitimate, but previous leaks of this nature have been proven to be the real deal, so we�re fairly optimistic about this. The image details reveal that the picture was taken with the OnePlus A5000 in Shenzhen, China. 


The source claims that the handset could have a dual camera setup. Given that we�ve seen dual cameras from almost every major smartphone manufacturer, this doesn�t particularly come as a surprise. The same resolution (16MP rumored), which is in line with a few previous reports as well.

OnePlus 5 could be gearing up to be one of the best low-cost flagships to have launched this year and could give the likes of the Xiaomi Mi 6 a run for its money. In addition to featuring attractive camera hardware, the OnePlus 5 is also expected to come with a bunch of neat features on board such as 8GB of RAM, the octa-core Snapdragon 835 processor, Android 7.1 Nougat, and a 4,000mAh battery.

The handset is expected to retain the 5.5-inch Optic AMOLED display, but with a resolution of 2560x1440. This has the makings of becoming yet another popular flagship for the company, provided OnePlus can keep up with the demand.


The OnePlus 5 is going to be one of the most interesting devices of the year, especially considering what OnePlus did with its previous smartphones. The fourth-gen �flagship killer� should feature the same recipe that worked well with previous versions: top-end specs for mid-range prices.


The OnePlus 5, and the phone was already benchmarked not too long ago, revealing some of the phone�s specs. A new leak now offers the first camera samples coming from the A5000.

The Pictures may have been shot with something entirely different , previous leak indicated that the OnePlus 5 will have a dual lens camera on the back.

Best TV 2017 : which TV should you buy?

  • Samsung Q9F QLED
The first brand to introduce a TV capable of showing high dynamic range pictures in 2015, and it built on that achievement this year by delivering us the Q9F, the brightest TV the world has seen to date. It delivers around 1500 nits of brightness on a 10% white HDR window, and manages to reach nearer 1800 nits in smaller areas, making it the single brightest TV we�ve ever tested.


This means it's uniquely qualified to unlock the full potential of HDR, delivering incredibly life-like, dynamic and dramatic pictures that also contain more detail and colour information in bright areas than we've ever seen before.

light around very bright objects and some settings cause striping in HDR colours, which is a shame considering how much the Q9F retails for, but it does a hell of a job of showcasing Samsung�s TV making prowess.



  • Panasonic DX802 Series
The Panasonic DX802 TVs sat just one rung below Panasonic's flagship TVs for 2016, they're strikingly aggressively priced. Especially when you consider that their feature list includes an awesome-sounding 12-speaker external sound bar audio system, native UHD screens, support for high dynamic range playback, and a brilliantly simple smart TV system.

The DX802s' edge LED lighting sometimes means you can see bands and blocks of unwanted light around bright objects. Otherwise, though, provided you use the TVs' adaptive backlight feature on its highest setting, the DX802s produce lovely, refined pictures with HDR and especially SDR content that exude Panasonic's self-proclaimed obsession with making pictures look like their creators intended them to look.


The DX802s also enjoy a unique design that finds their screens hanging within two easel-style silver legs, between which you also rest the external sound bar speaker


  • Sony W805/809C Series
There are still plenty of people who have no interest in forking out for UHD sources, and so would rather get a high quality HD TV for the same money as a relatively low-quality 4K TV. Cue the Sony W805/809C series, which deliver probably the finest picture quality the HD world has ever seen while costing precious little by today's TV standards.

The Android interface would be sleeker and more customisable, and you might want to add an external sound system at some point to replace the rather flimsy built-in speakers. The W805C/W809C TVs' fabulous pictures, though, really are gorgeous enough to overwhelm any flaws elsewhere.


  • LG OLEDE7 Series
The way each OLED pixel produces its own light and colour independent of its neighbours means the OLEDE7 series delivers levels of contrast and light control just not possible with LCD. 


Unprecedentedly deep black colours sit right alongside even the brightest HDR whites without a hint of light 'bleed' - something just not possible with current LCD technologies. This works wonders for high-contrast HDR sources, as well as making today's standard dynamic range sources look better here, too.

That claims Dolby Atmos support, still boasts LG�s excellent webOS smart system, and still, most importantly of all, delivers pretty much identical picture quality to its more expensive sibling. For all those reasons and more, the E7 OLED is a worthwhile addition to any home theater.


  • Samsung KS7000 Series
Their combination of an ultra bright panel and Quantum Dot colour reproduction enables it to deliver levels of dynamism, colour vibrancy and punch with HDR sources that have to be seen to believed considering the range starts at just �1200. The sets are attractive too, featuring slim, metallic frames and minimalist desktop 'feet'. It's also nice to find the airy design kept relatively free of cable spaghetti by an external box that passes on picture and sound via a single cable.


The KS7000s make it easy to find favourite content via a new, improved version of Samsung's Tizen smart interface, too. Bright HDR objects can cause some backlight striping and blocking when they appear against dark backgrounds, and 3D fans will have to look elsewhere as Samsung has abandoned the feature. The bottom line, though, is that no other TV in its price range delivers HDR as successfully.



  • Sony XD9405 Series
Its mammoth 75-inch screen gives you deliciously detailed, colourful, high contrast, clear and natural pictures with high and standard dynamic sources alike, and its enormity also does a great job of underlining the benefits of having a native 4K pixel count to work with. Its pictures aren't the brightest around, and some high-contrast HDR content causes light 'blooming' around bright objects.

Android TV's interface isn't the most helpful around either, and the low-profile buttons on the remote control are tortuous to use. For the vast majority of the time, though, the size and overall quality of the 75XD9405's pictures creates a stunningly immersive experience that could well make the idea going out to watch films a thing of the past.

Next-generation 'Mali-Cetus' display processor : ARM

Android devices use ARM processors, usually with ARM's 'Mali' display unit to render graphics. Usually every new Mali upgrade is a small incremental improvement over the previous design, but not this time around. ARM has taken the wraps off 'Mali-Cetus,' the company's next-generation display processor.


Designed with higher-resolution displays and multi-tasking in mind. For example, the new composition unit can composite 8 UI layers , and it can scale up to four of them with its four scaling engines. This will be incredibly helpful for Android 7.0 Nougat's multi-tasking functionality, where each app requires its own layer.

ARM is advertising Mali-Cetus to work with up to 4Kx2K screens at up to 120Hz. Cetus achieves this by splitting up 4K video layers to different sub-units, which has the added benefit of improved battery life.

The previous Mali-DP500/550/650 display processors were all based on a common architecture, with ARM iterating on it over the years. Cetus, on the other hand, is making a clean break, something we don�t see very often in this space. ARM is doing this in order to assemble a more modern design that can incorporate features such as HDR output and high throughput modes for VR, which were not a part of the earlier display processor family.


Co-processor interface which will allow OEMs to expand Mali graphics with their own hardware. For example, ARM's new Assertive Display block uses this interface to provide HDR support. It will likely be a while before we see Android devices with the new Mali-Cetus architecture, but I'm excited to see how noticeable the performance boost will be.

ARM is offering a bit more detail on the technical underpinnings of the architecture. At the same time, they�ve also changed how their processors are logically designed/broken down so that they are broken up into 5 different units: the ARM FrameBuffer Compression (AFBC) Unit, the Global Control Unit, the Layer Processing Unit, the Composition Unit, and the Display Output Unit
